Interaction requirements
Use semantic landmarks, a skip link, labelled controls, visible focus, keyboard navigation, useful errors, and accessible status updates. Status must never rely on color alone. Support reduced motion and light, dark, and system appearance.
Verification
Test keyboard-only workflows, screen-reader navigation, contrast, zoom to 200% and 400%, and narrow viewports. Automated checks identify some issues; they do not establish complete WCAG conformance.
Content and participation
Use plain language and descriptive links. Publish text alternatives for diagrams and documents. Include disabled people in research and usability review.
