Set up browser collection

The companion Chrome extension requests Cash App and Fifth Third CSV exports every 15 minutes. The local app checks completed downloads every minute and imports new records.

  1. In Chrome, open chrome://extensions and enable Developer mode.
  2. Choose Load unpacked. Select the browser-connector folder inside this finance app’s source folder.
  3. Open Chrome’s extension menu and select Local finance browser collector. Enable the account you want to collect.
  4. Use the account tab the extension opens to sign in yourself. Then use its manual collection control to test the first export. The collector never enters your login details.
  5. Return to this app and check Transactions and Settings & tools. An export request alone does not prove a completed download or import.

Chrome and the local finance service must be running. Expired logins or changed website controls pause collection. This custom browser adapter is not a bank-supported API. Cash App restricts automated access in its terms.

Keep Chrome’s downloads in your normal Downloads folder and allow the official CSV downloads to complete. The local receiver keeps originals and ignores files from before it was enabled. Turn an account off in the extension to stop its export requests.

Imported spending does not overwrite your forecast balance. Transfers, peer payments and records without transaction IDs may need category review.
